Beverley Boothe, MSW, LCSW (Gainesville Office)
Ms. Beverley Boothe is the President of The Marriage Healing Center. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Virginia. She is a psychotherapist, an Imago Couple’s Therapist, and a Life and Business Coach. Ms. Boothe has a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Howard University and Bachelors’ degrees in Social Work and Psychology from York University. Ms. Boothe established Life Enrichment Counseling Center, Inc., in April 2005. Her practice has expanded into four locations in Northern, VA and Washington, DC. In December 2017, Ms. Boothe established Life Enrichment Coaching and Consulting Services.
At The Marriage Healing Center, Ms. Boothe provides couples counseling and specialized couples programs to help couples work through conflict and heal. Ms. Boothe provides support and guidance to help her clients better connect emotionally, spiritually and physically so that their relationship can thrive. She also provides pre-marital counseling to engaged couples. Ms. Boothe has provided counseling to couples with communication, infidelity, and other issues. Ms. Boothe has provided marriage workshops for churches and the community. She has also provided consulting services to other clinicians in her field of expertise. Ms. Boothe integrates spiritual principles in her work and believes that her success comes from her faith in God.
Babak Alidoosti, MS, LMFT(Gainesville Office)
Babak Alidoosti is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Virginia. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland (2005) and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech University (2009).
Prior to joining the Marriage Healing Center, Mr. Alidoosti provided clinical services in a range of therapeutic settings, working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families along the way. Mr. Alidoosti has worked with clients on a variety of issues including depression, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, anger management, infidelity, and parent-child conflict. Since being in private practice, Mr. Alidoosti has provided services to individuals, couples, adolescents, and families.
He draws from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), The Gottman Method, and Family Systems. Mr. Alidoosti uses a client-centered approach and believes that a good therapeutic relationship and providing non-judgmental support are essential to successful outcomes.
When it comes specifically to couples and marital therapy, Mr. Alidoosti takes a very collaborative approach. He will help each couple identify their unique vision for the relationship, while also uncovering potentially destructive patterns that may be holding the couple back from achieving this vision. Better understanding the couples’ communication habits often becomes a main focus of therapy, as developing healthier communication lays the groundwork for a stronger, more open and meaningful connection.
Shevy Kanaganayagam, MA, LPC (Gainesville VA Office)
Shevy Kanaganayagam is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Virginia and Nebraska. She provides therapy to couples at the Marriage Healing Center, LLC.
Ms. Kanaganayagam received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2014. Ms. Kanaganayagam has an undergraduate degree in Theology, majoring in Education, from Singapore Bible College. She also has a diploma in Human Resources Management from London Business School. She has over 10 years of Management experience in Human Resources. Ms. Kanaganayagam has worked in private, non-profit, and church agencies and takes a holistic approach to providing therapy to couples. She utilizes a wide range of researched based tools, often working with relationship approaches, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution focused, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Ms. Kanaganayagam’s areas of experience include working with couples that are in conflict, struggling with communication, infidelity or porn addiction of a spouse. She works with individuals with anxiety, depression, Bipolar, PTSD, stress, sex and love addiction, grief, anger management, life changes, and work and career challenges. Ms. Kanaganayagam offers Christian Counseling with sound, biblically based values if requested.
