Cassie Herring, MFT, Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy
(Gainesville, Online Therapy)
Cassie Herring is a Resident Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree in English from Hampton University. She is currently earning a Post-Master’s Certificate in Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice from New York University.
Cassie has experience working with couples navigating infidelity, infertility, sex and intimacy issues, grief and loss, communication issues, parenting challenges, and cultural/racial differences. Cassie views each couple as the expert on their relationship and begins therapy with a four-session assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of who they are and how she can tailor therapy to their unique dynamic. Most importantly, she works to identify the innate strengths they already possess that can be the basis for change. Cassie uses Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy to illuminate and repair patterns of disconnection and conflict, helping couples experience a new version of their relationship that is rich with empathy, emotional attunement, and secure attachment. Cassie’s work is also informed by The Gottman Method techniques and Prepare/Enrich Certification which she employs to help dating, engaged, and premarital couples build strong foundations and foster long-term relationship success.
